The only work around they offered was for me to install a different internet browser (I use explorer) to access my transactions. WTF? You got to be kidding me, right? BOA can't be compatible with one of the most commonly used browsers? Hey Bozos! How about a message on your website letting people know there is an issue, rather than waiting for people to call your tech support line? Bank of America refused to return and /or freeze $78,000 of money from my account that was transferred without my authorization. They offered me no assistance. So I took the money back from the account to which it was transferred (my estranged husband's) in exactly the same manner which it was taken from mine--through online banking. They then allowed him to file a claim of fraud against me and have since honored that claim. How he was assisted and I wasn't I still do not know. I went into the bank immediately, day one. This was money from my account, with my name only on it. I opened the account 4 years prior with $83,000 of my own money, before I was even married. Since they have honored this idiotic claim, they have taken a total of $95,000 from me. This does not even reflect the amount in question! My account is now negative $18,000. And their overdraft people are now calling me! I told them to call their fraud department, and while they are at it GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY AS WELL!!!! I cannot believe this! I do not understand why they would not honor my request to at least freeze the funds--then our attorneys could have just battled it out and I would still have some savings left to pay my bills. My "husband" has since moved a huge portion of this money--MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT-- overseas and I have absolutely no guarantee that I will ever see it again. The day that he received his green card is the day that he drained my account. No one at Bank of America can give me a straight answer if some of my money will be returned to me and this entire decision--if you can even believe this--was made by an investigator who never even bothered to call me, send me a letter, nothing!!!!!! Bank of America refused to return and /or freeze $78,000 of money from my account that was transferred without my authorization. They offered me no assistance. So I took the money back from the account to which it was transferred (my estranged husband's) in exactly the same manner which it was taken from mine--through online banking. I call B of A and told them what I am trying to do. They transfer me to 3 people and I finally end up in the home retention department. I told the person I don’t need to retain my home; I just want to move my month payment out for one month. They told that isn’t possible. I said what if I don’t make the payment until next month? They said I guess that is what you have to do, but this will impact your credit as we will report you. So, I am 5 days past my payment due date and I swear you not, I have received 15 to 20 calls from B of A asking where my payment is. I talked to them twice and asked them if they don’t document anything I talked to them about and they said they just want me to pay. Also the people calling are from India or somewhere as I can’t understand anything they say and are very pushy. “F” B of A! « less

We had a cash offer and what we thought was an approved short sale, but without notifying my realtor and over $600, they cancelled the approval and wiped off all of my online application information. I can't even figure out what the hell they are doing. Debit transactions that "post" the same day are not being deducted for 3-5 business days. Even though the amount is deducted from my balance making it appear to have gone through. So I think my balance is ok. It's almost like they wait till my balance is low then truly post it causing me a $35 overdraft fee. $35 is a tank of gas. I hate BOA « less

I did - OVER AND OVER AND OVER again! I finally got someone who said that they were having technical diffidulties with their "lashup" to the countrywide servers. Ever since May 5, my e-bill online bill pay for my mortgage stopped working. I had to call and have them manually pull the payment from my other bank. They claimed it would all be working again after June 26, however NOW THEY CLAIM THEY CAN'T FIND MY MORTGAGE!!!!!!!!!!!! My loan # is showing up as belonging to someone else!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Shit -- this is the worst bank I have ever seen. Run like mad from this bank. If they find my mortgage, I am going to refinance just so I don't have to deal with them ever again. « less

I haven't dealt with Bank of America for years. I learned my lesson a long time ago. However, today I was in a situation that needed a quick cash fix. I had on hand a check drawn on B of A, so I went to my local branch to cash it. Now, a check by definition is a negotiable instrument payable to the bearer. But since I refuse to acquiesce to their thievery by opening an account with them, they charged me $5 to cash that check. Now, it was a small check($250), and that $5 equals only 2% of the face value, but there is a principal involved. Regardless of the obviously unethical practice, and their blatant disregard for effective community relations, I am of the opinion that this practice amounts to FRAUD in their discounting the face value. My next step is to contact the California Attorney Generals Office to file a complaint (for all the good it will do). I'd like to know if there is anyone out there contemplating a class action lawsuit against these BASTARDS. If so, SIGN ME UP as a plaintiff. I realize that this is very small potatoes, but this ain't the first time they've had me in their clutches. The last time they took me for thousands. « less

Bank of America got money from tax payers for the "Making Homes Affordable" program. After enrolling in this program, I was given a 4 month "trial period." This is where you pay about 2/3rd of your full amount. The bank sends multiple fed-ex requests of documents they did not receive from me to qualify. I had my CPA send them all of my financial statements and tax returns. They continue to send these requests for "profit/loss statement for self-employment." I am not self-employed. They inform me of a deadline to give them this info and that the full amount of the "Trial period" is due in a baloon payment. They pushed it pass the deadline despite my countless attempts to comply.

Make no mistake; Bank of America makes a killing on Short Sales, which are backed by the Federal Government (us tax payers.)

B of A has no intention of helping you keep your house. In rare cases they do only to be in compliance with the Federal Housing Assistance Program(s)

For people like me who intend to pay my house of in full, who have had their wages cut and only need a temporary solution; Bank of America seeks to profit from this. I do acknowledge that I am the one who signed the loan papers.

They are an evil company who bets against their own customers homes.
My advice;
1. Make a good faith effort to pay your mortgage and enroll in their programs.
2. Fuck-em; Dig in as long as you can without payment (don't destroy the property.)

Why do you think Bank Of America sucks? I'm going to make a "Bank of America Rips Off its Customers" bumper sticker and make a fortune. These were $2.16 for some french fries at Burger King, just over $2.00 for a bean burrito at Taco Bell, $5.00 for a Subway veggie sandwich, $60.00 for some aluminum plates (I run a metal fabrication shop) and $61.00 for car insurance, and another item I forget now. That day an automatic payment also came in for $264.00, and it caught me off guard. There had been plenty of funds in my account to pay every item except the $264.00 automatic payment, but naturally the con artists at B of A debited the $264.00 item first, which caused all the other smaller ones to be overdraft items, too. When I went to the local branch and protested to the manager, she was very arrogant to me and told me that the bank pays the largest item first because that's what customers prefer. (Maybe the masochistic ones. Funny, I'm a customer and I don't want them to debit the large one first) This caused a long series of me making deposits to cover the repeated $35.00 fees, and each deposit I made was too late to avoid more fees. It was the snowball effect, no matter how much I deposited, I still had a negative balance. In the end I had paid a $35 fee for a $2.16 order of Burger King french fries, a $35 fee for a Coke, a $35 fee for a bean burrito and a $35 fee for a Subway 6" veggie sandwich, nine $35 fees in all, all in a row. The ridiculous thing is that B of A paid all my items, there were no returned checks. So why couldn't they have paid them small to large and let me keep a little bit of my money? It's like the old joke my local public radio station used to make at pledge time.... "Give us ALL of your money, not just SOME of it." « less

I have been dealing with BOA for 1.5 years. They refuse to credit my mortage payment correctly. Now, I have resorted to calling every month to have them post my payment correctly. I have been told by their CS rep. that it is not there responsibility to make sure my payment is posted correctly. When dealing with them, my behavior has sunk so low that I should be ashamed of myself for talking to any human being the way I have spoken to them. But they have pulled the ultimate trump card. After arguing for 1.5 years with them, trying to get enrolled into the PayPlan 24 so my mortgage would be accepted in partial payments, they finally explained that I did not qualify because that plan requires one advanced mortgage payment then the CS rep said we do have a plan were you can just make partial payments if you would like for me to enroll you. I was so enraged that I actually told the lady that I was going to have to call her back because I was so pissed off that I couldn't handle it.

Then they added annual fees to my credit card telling me that if I don't pay the annual fee they will cancel my credit cards and I had no annual fee when I opened my accounts. They started charging me some kind of maintenance fee on my savings account all of a sudden, and of course each and every time I try to talk to them on the phone they can't help me with anything.... I think they suck, I think they take advantage of people even tough we are going through hard economic times, they are allowed to screw people off and make more money with this whole situation. The government gave them money so they can help the economy but they don't do shit, they still act like assholes and don't give a shit about anybody but themselves. « less

Where to start? We all know they make us wait on hold (long distance for me in Canada) for 3 hours. Can never reach my branch; the system put me through to the main customer service line. Branch manager is sleazy and touches me any chance he can. Their music on hold on the phone is like spikes in my eardrums. "Your business is important to us" messages playing every 10 seconds for 3 hours. Does not provide easy ways to contact them. Adding hidden fees to every transaction. Making my bank and card accounts separate logins online so a credit card payment takes 2 weeks to arrive. $35 late fees on card payments which were sent online with THEIR system 2 weeks earlier. Not canceling my bank account then charging fees due to inactivity. Their statements are TERRIBLE. Their carpets are filthy. Their site doesn't allow paperless billing to some states. Their reps on the phone say they think their service sucks yet the company won't do a thing.
A happy ending? Switched to Chase and when I call my branch it rings twice, I press "0" and have a REAL person on the phone within 5 seconds. Cheaper fees and WAY better service. (For now...) « less

They've lost my money, they've locked my debit card while I was travelling, their online balance is way behind, with transactions popping up on dates for which there were no transactions that were previously listed. The branch lists 4pm as closing time but they are ALWAYS closed before I get there at 5 minutes til' 4 (I have an atomic clock so my time is correct). They would not give a deposit receipt to my room mate who made a deposit for me when I was unable to make it to the bank. The reason is that they didn't want to give out my account number(even though he had it in order to fill out the deposit slip), instead they mail the receipt through the mail in an envelope that was so thin I could read my account number through it. Try getting your credit card bill paid. Sometimes it takes DAYS for a payment to go through. Saturdays don't count as business days even though the bank is open for business. They charged my business account for a monthly fee even though I don't have monthly fees when I use the business debit card that month(which I did). « less

Then due to an error on my part, I made one payment 4 days late only to receive a letter in the mail from Bank of America stating my line of credit had been reduced and that I could no longer draw on the line credit. What a joke... This bank is looking for any reason they can find to reduce thier customers lines of credit. I plan to pay off my account very soon and no longer due business with such a terrible banking organization. « less

Flash forward, BOA buys Country wide and instantly my Escrow account is hosed up. 2 hours on the phone with an end result of a promise to correct it and OMG WHat Suprise a month later when I get the next statement and nothing is done! It is exactly where it was last month.

Of course they arent open on weekends. I cant wait for my next 2 hour call to accomplish absolutely nothing.

HMMmm, I am now wondering how they are going to tack on fees to this to cost me even more money!

I just cant get away from them. Thinking of a refi- but who says they dont buy it up again and I am out 1500-2000 in refinance fees and end up stuck with bank of stupidity again? « less

I think we all need to go otu and charge a quarter in gas to our BOA card, then after receiving the statement pay $1, then the next month after getting your statement with a credit, ask for a refund, rinse repeat :) Good Times
