BA bed bugs and terrible customer service

I got eaten by bed bugs on a flight from New York to London. They took 6 weeks to respond to my complaint, and offered me no compensation apart from 5,000 air miles. I rejected them. I travel the world for work, so do about 10,000 air miles a month so this is hardly worth the time it took me to read it. The biggest kick in the teeth was the phrase: "I am grateful you gave me the opportunity to look into this for you.". Basically they did not believe me (I have photos and doctors certificates), so I have forwarded this to a tabloid and vowed never to fly with this rubbish airline again. I ended the note with: "Thanks for making it so very easy to never want to fly with you again." I have been so loyal to these clowns for so many years.... waste of time.

Too right and when you actually exchange your 10,000 BA miles for a flight to Athens, if you were unfortunate enough to become ill on the day of travel, guess what??? You lose BOTH the outbound and inbound flight with BA plus the extra £150 you paid to purchase your flights with BA. How on earth can BA justify ripping you off your inbound flight coming back in 4 days time? And if this had not been bad enough they will put you through to their Sales team to try to sell you another flight to Athens at a premium rate of £700-£800. Luckily, I had been covered by my travel insurance and got the same return flights with Aegean airlines for £340 return booked from their website. Who wants to put up with cabin crew with a very low morale from BA anyway? Any other airline has got to be better as BA sucks when it comes to international travel!!!
