  Stupid, stupid O2.... I'm 3 months into a 24 months contract, and wanted to BUY a Palm Pre outright... And, they want me to pay £1,500 to close my present contract, and then the tariff for the Palm Pre. Nonsense! O2 Sucks!

  I am trying to move my son's number to a different network and o2 is taking me for a ride and refusing to give me the PAC code. I keep getting questions like when you last top up? how much did you top up? then they move into how did you top up? and I didn't know because it wasn't me who did it. They block me then I had to call home to get the answer and then call back, when I did they started asking for a number my son normally calls. I didn't know so lets start again. When I call for the third time I got the rudest operator to deal with me she went through all the questions again ad when I answered hem all she asked me for the serial number of the sim card which I do't have. I told her that this was all a bucket of rubish and all they wanted was to prevent the number from moving away and she hanged up on my.

  Epic O2 incompetence! I NEED HELP. After numerous epic fails and broken promises by O2 in generating a printed accurate balance on a now unused account so I can have it closed, O2 finally put a figure of £300 due on my account in an email (so I have evidence), even specifying this as a “one off payment”. I paid the debt within 24 hours. O2 then C... more »

  I NEED HELP. After numerous epic fails and broken promises by O2 in generating a printed accurate balance on a now unused account so I can have it closed, O2 finally put a figure of £300 due on my account in an email (so I have evidence), even specifying this as a “one off payment”. I paid the debt within 24 hours. O2 then CLOSED the account as agreed. Case over.........not.
  
  Imagine my jaw dropping when a letter arrives from a debt collector, not O2, saying I owe O2 OVER £1600! O2 obviously think two off payments are the norm.
  
  After providing emailed evidence to the debt collector that no money is owed I again am surprised to receive a final demand for payment from the debt collector plus appropriate threats of additional charges. I contact O2, are referred to the complaints department, provide the O2 email evidence but after no response for a week I am forced to chase up again and then finally after several days I get the response that I signed a contract and they think the amount outstanding is correct but now they don't tell me what amount the voices in their head say is owed on this particular day of the week. Is it £0, £1600 or >£100000 today. I don't think a cheque a £0 will go down well with my bank. Are O2 in financial difficulty or something? If I was an idiot and paid the “outstanding” £1600 like I paid the real outstanding amount last time will I get asked for £16,000 the next day?
  
  Obviously at this point I had to go straight to the telecommunications industry ombudsman but I'm concerned that the ombudsman website says they don't accept every case. I fear now that the apparently incompetent O2 have hired a competent company to do their work.
  
  Anyone got feedback other than "O2 sucks and I better cancel my contract with O2 quick smart” ? « less

  Very simply because they are engaging in legal fraud. here is what happened to me. i signed up for an 18 months iphone contract in october 2009 and was very happy. in november my girlfriend decided to leave me and i had to leave the country (going back to my native germany). at first i wasnt sure if the breakup lasted so for a few months i kept the phone just in case. here is why i am upset:
  1) they charged me horrendous prices for using MY OWN iphone with MY FRIENDS OWN INTERNET WIFI at HER OWN HOUSE and they charged me something like 3 pound per mb. unbelievable.
  but it gets better. so i decide to cancel my contract cause im moving to ireland permanently.
  2) they cancel my contract for 720 in words SEVENHUNDREDTWENTY freaking pounds. And no way to negotioate. So I had to shell out all in all 1000 pounds for being broken up with and just having to cancel my freaking phone.
