Time limits and advertisements have killed the fun. They claim they now need them to support their liscensing but that's a huge crock. They want to profit from their (now dwindling) popularity.   Please do not support Pandora, It is not a true genome project, but actually run by a bunch of uneducated phoneys that think they are the masters of music. They no nothing of it at all and do not support indie, and do not include many wonderful artists who deserve to be heard.

Or maybe it is just that Pandora functionality/Pandora advertising have become indistinguishable and there are certain albums/artists that, regardless of actual similarity to anything, will come up on your station.. Modest Mouse for example. They come up on every stations I have ever put together (no exaggeration), and no I don't like them. "You like Basia Bulat? Then you should like Modest Mouse," Pandora recently told me. Also, "You like edIT? Then you should like Thievery Corporation." Glitch and Hip Hop? Then you should definitely like background music for pseudo-trendy artsy stores targeting bland middle-aged people. More disturbing is that Pandora seems to have become a justification for people to tell me that I should like something because Pandora told them that because I like this group, I should also like this other group. Like Pandora is somehow an objective authority on what musical tastes should, logically, be. « less

  I listen to www.977music.com for my more mainstream taste is music. They have their own programmed stations and they allow me to create my own playlist of music and listen to it anywhere I have a computer with Internet Access. It's free but there are a few banner ads and a few audio ads an hour but that's about it.

  Pandora doesn't care about the struggling indie artist that has been making music for years. Pandora is run by a bunch of kids who doesn't know music- period! They reject more great music then they feature on their site. It's a waste of time go to CD Baby abd find the best artist ever.

  Pandora's insistence on playing Death Cab for Cutie no matter how many times I give it thumbs down was the beginning of my dissatisfaction. Also, why put a cap on how many times I can skip songs I don't like? And now with the ads... ridiculous! I can deal with banners all day, but 15 seconds of commercials every time I change a station!?! Espe... more »

Also, why put a cap on how many times I can skip songs I don't like? And now with the ads... ridiculous! I can deal with banners all day, but 15 seconds of commercials every time I change a station!?! Especially annoying when you have your volume at a high level, and a random ad comes on, blasting at the same volume. It's also sad that your existing stations always play the same songs, never updating. I mean come on Pandora, there is so much new music coming out all the time with similar characteristics, there is no excuse.
