They make a lot of money that they don't deserve. That much is true. What happened to caring about good music? There are thousands of bands/artists more talented and deserving of the spotlight. Nothing new here and that's what I hate about mainstream, not even just this one band. Damn near all of pop music is just garbage and people eat it up like potato chips. Mainstream music is to Mcdonalds as underground/progressive/idie is to a filet mignon. Truth.
