*They do not allow other software to connect with skype network. *They force use their own program and that program wastes HUGE amount of computing resources for stupid advertising and who knows for what more. *They waste your network speed in background, even when you do not use program.

Skype sent me an email telling me payment failed. They then sent me an email telling me I had until June 6th to make payment. On May 6th they cancelled my subscription and to reinstate it I had to pay considerably more per month. Every email I have sent to customer services has been answered by a different person giving me the same repeated nonsens... more »

The idiot who replied today said 'I cant find a subscription for you'. DISGUSTING DISGUSTING customer services, yet I use the number for work and am facing no other option but to pay the increased amount. What a horrible dirty company. Taking exchange rates and Paypal costs plus the dependency on a solid DSL connection at the least and the fact that they use it too no matter if you are calling or not and still you are the one paying the bill - I'd say there are far better options and last but not least - I am girl and not looking to get laid by a Russian!
Sorry guy's yes it is the 21st century but I still say Phone line wins VoiceOver IP loose - I wish I was in Switzerland they have a service there called MAXtel.ch they rock and put that Skype bunch to shame! MAXtel please please if you read this expand!!! « less

NEVER, EVER link your Skype account to your PayPal account. They are the same company so if you dispute the payment, PayPal always decide in Skype's favour. Use the best quality credit card you have, at least you will have some chance in a dispute. The company has a horrible attitude problem, it shows in their customer service, billing system, and the Skype software itself. My solution was to get a land-line deal that gives me free calls to anywhere in the world. Maybe it costs a little more than Skype but the deals are getting better all the time, the call quality is way better, and it's a lot less hassle. Personally I'm happy to pay a bit extra for better calls. Skype is already much less important than it was. Let's hope the trend continues until this horrible company is finally consigned to the gutters of history. « less

What do you expect? Skype belongs to eBay just as those thieves PayPal. Fancy graphics and hype but this is only just money making racket under a friendly disguise. Don't think they are interested in good quality or you problems as long as they can get hold of your bucks.

The last skype really sucks... people that I know that are online seems offline and I cannot call them. The "follow me" service redirects calls to my cell even when I'm connected and online for hours. It seems like other users keep connecting and disconnecting, and the quality of the voice 50% of the times is bad.

Bandwidth is HORRIBLE. I have a blazing fast PC and high speed DSL - ditto for the person I try to connect with, we close all other programs. And still, yes still, the video freezes up like every 10 seconds and has to be restarted.
