My Tercel had an issue with dying while making left hand turns, generally in intersections coming off of idle. You couldn't pick a worse scenario when turning into oncoming traffice. Toyota had knowledge of the problem but it wasnt published as a TSB, can't remember but they call it something else. My dealer never helped me with it or reimbursed all my money spent. Sick of Toyota's advertisement about them designing safe cars. Did they just get over a huge recall for building unsafe cars? Used to still own a toy 06 tacoma, they done build them like they used to -83 tercels were the "bomb". Love that 4x4 sr5 station wagon.

Purchased a 2009 Matrix S from these clowns in Jan 09. Purchased after market stain-protector for car. Simple H2O stained seats with stain-protector on it. Took dealership and Zylon TWO MONTHS to apply, reapply, remove, reapply again, make entire interior sticky, then just give us new leather seats. All the while, I'm dropping off/picking up car at least once a week.

Door & window control panel on drivers side door became loose. Dropped bucket of bolts off for repair. Service called me to pickup, stating they fixed the problem. Picked up car (this is last winter, so Feb/Mar of 2009). Panel still loose. Retard in service tells me "The cold weather probably knocked it loose". Yeah, that MUST be it. Dropped car off again later in week. Picked up car and drove away. Two lights away, panel falls off, AGAIN! Drive back, state my frustration, they take car and order a whole new panel. Finally replaced. Three weeks for one repair.

Car involved in THREE recalls in less than 1.5 years!

Attempted to drop off car on Monday b/c TWO panels have fallen off car. Found out Toyota has SOLD all their lender cars. They do offer a rental via Enterprise for $35.

FUCK YOU Antwerpen. I have been lied to. You have misled me. You have not told me the entire truth. Your staff is just awful with communication between each other. One more thing goes wrong and I will find an attorney and use the Maryland Lemon Law to force you to take this POS back. I hate you. « less

Toyota has had a reputation for quality for many years that they never deserved. They were great at covering up their quality and safety problems until their kamikazi cars started to crash and burn. I was an electronics technician for a major automaker for 25 years. (not toyota!) I knew it wasn't the floor mats as soon as I saw this issue go public and was able to read about how the vehicles were malfunctioning. The failure didn't look like floor mat entrapment of the pedal, it looks more like a runaway cruise control which would be a malfunction of the electronic throttle controller or an error in the software that commands the ETC to go to 100% throttle. Toyota is still trying to cover this up because it could be very costly to replace all the defective electronics ...and I suspect that they still don't have a clue what causes the system to malfunction. Toyota never had a failsafe in their throttle controller. I notice that many Toyota owners are reporting that when the dealer replaces the recalled pedal, they are also doing a software revision to the ETC to add a brake override to the contoller. The original problem still exists in the controller since Toyota claims the pedal is the fix. ...So it looks like everyone that drives a Toyota is now an upaid test driver on the public roadways which endangers all of us as soon as we pull out of our driveway. « less

03/16/2010 – ACCELERATER PEDAL- AS I WAS LEAVING I HEARD AND FELT A LOUD SCRAPING NOISE FROM THE TIRE AREA. I RETURNED CAR IMMEDIATELY. FOR SOME REASON UNKNOWN TO ME THEY TOLD ME THAT A METAL PLATE WAS SCRAPING SOMEWHERE IN FRONT OF THE CAR, THEY DID NOT LIST THIS ON THE REPAIR SHEET. WHEN I DROVE OUT AGAIN I FOUND THAT THE STERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE AND OUT OF LINE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT TOUCH THE STEERING, ONLY PUT A BAR IN FOR THE GAS PEDAL. THEY DID NOT TELL ME THAT THERE WAS AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION INTO A PROBLEM INTO WITH THE STEERING, THAT I DISCOVERED ON RETURNING HOME AND CALLING THE MAIN OFFICE AT TOYOTA. WOULD YOU NOT THINK THAT WHEN PEOPLE COME IN ON A 3RD RECALL PROBLEM THEY WOULD CHECK THE STEERING, AND NOT BE ANGRY WHEN QUESTIONED ABOUT IT.?
04/13/2010- ON 04/12/2010 WHILE DRIVING ON THE GARDEN STATE PARKING DOING 65 MILES AN HOUR I GOT A BLOW OUT IN MY LEFT REAR TIRE, AND WAS TERRIFIED. THIS CAR IS EXTREMELY WELL KEPT, I NORMALLY DO NOT DRIVE IT, AND MY WIFE USES IT FOR SHORT TRIPS. Now that Toyota is no longer being protected by the media, it is hiding behind denials. Enough is enough. Toyota SUCKS, and the truth has finally caught up to it! « less

When I bought my Toyota Prius in 2003, I had no idea how much the maintenance would be on it over the long haul. Every single time it has gone in for a 30, 60 thousand mile service, it is well over $500.00 dollars. They jack you on everything! The tires that came on the car were s#@t! When I bought my Toyota Prius in 2003, I had no idea how much the maintenance would be on it over the long haul. Every single time it has gone in for a 30, 60 thousand mile service, it is well over $500.00 dollars. They jack you on everything! The tires that came on the car were s#@t! They lasted 19,000 miles--they said it was because the car is so heavy (extra battery weight). That is just insane, to my mind. Now, my battery keeps dying and I'll probably have to pay an arm and a leg because all they care about is how much they can rip you off. I otherwise like my Toyota, but if I had known what the upkeep would cost on this car, I'd never have purchased it and bought the extended warranty. Geez, computers destroyed the car industry in my humble opinion. « less

Just wait until they start investigating LEXUS. It's gonna get a lot worse. DO a Youtube search for Lexus Crash 911! Scary. Keep in mind, you can't just turn the engine off or switch to neutral. The system isn't set up like that.

Unfortunately, many people have been brainwashed by Toyota marketing into a false sense of quality regarding the Toyota brand. Now I did not have this kind of money and I really needed a Car so they slapped it onto the cost of this Lease. Then I fond out that a friend of mine was in a similar accidcent(same total cost to repair damage, and repaired BY Toyota) and Toyota didn't charge him a "**?%/"%$ Dime. I can't wait to tell them where to shove their Car, and I will certainly let them know I am off to pruchase a N.A. made Car. « less
