Ubuntu made linux useable for 'normal' people. I love how simple it is to install ubuntu. Almost everything works out of the box and its very easy to customize your system.

You have to know how to use it. The only thing that I honestly HATE about Ubuntu is that now people are starting to hide malicious things in .deb [installer] files for Ubuntu. They're basically viruses, they estimate that there are about 10 viruses for Ubuntu, but you can pretty much only get this if you're not careful and download from non-trusted... more »

That's the only problem with it.
Whoever says you have to use it like 80s computers, opening and closing terminals all the time,, you're wrong. Ubuntu is known for not having to do that. Ubuntu isn't my favorite, but it's not that bad. « less

Ubuntu makes my life easier. The best package management around. When I install something the dependencies get pulled in automatically. Much easier to use than Windows.

It really kicks ass, Ive been a windows user for almost 15 years but for the last 6 months ive only used windows for certain things. Finally last week i removed windows 7 from my computer in favor of a pure ubuntu system. Once you realize how fast, stable and fun ubuntu is to use. You will see why it rocks supreme!

it still sucks in some respects ... but windows sucks more and osx is just not worth the cash for one of those girly macs

Ubuntu rocks because its Free, Fast, No viruses so there isn't antivirus that slows my computer, the update manager updates all the software, big support, etc etc etc.

I've tried them all and Ubuntu IS the best. Drivers and software installation with a couple key presses. Just try it !!

I don't think it sucks. I use it at work every day, our office upgraded to it almost 2 years ago, and we haven't looked back since.

It is free, works great and has never crashed on me. Have not touched windows for the last 5 years. Mac is great if you are a millionaire.
