Gentoo is just a reflect of the linux ecosystem. Actually, there is no ecosystem! There are some guys doing some things and some other guys trying to pull everything together. Each distro has drawbacks. If you're not happy, maybe you haven't made the right choice for your needs?

@flameeyes I think we need both: creators and advocates. And #Gentoo is awesome, but IMO it has too few advocates => too few users+new devs.

Downloading the new Suse also. I love Gentoo, but for a desktop it is sucking too much of my time. I will maintain it in my servers, though.

I love Gentoo. Really. It taught me SO much. But I'm sick of half the system breaking every update. A few issues here & there are fine but..
