Fine, lynch me. You'll have to find me first. The fact is that I don't sell knockoffs on the street. I'm sorry I was born with ugly eyes and yellow skin but if it offends you that much, then why don't you pay for my plastic surgery? I don't consider myself Asian. I've never been to Asia. I have nothing to do with the culture and I have nothing to do with those knockoff bags. What do you have to say to that?

That was a very inspiring story and I know exactly what you mean. It seems as though people downgrade me everyday. Clearly, people don't know us very well when they surpass these capabilities of ours just because of our eyes and skin. We don't live in a perfect society and those superficial features are physically and mentally the first things people see about us. It's quite frustrating and I feel as if I've become more aggressive as of late and I'm very straightforward now about how I feel when people react to me a certain way because it just comes to a point that you can no longer take crap. I, too, am an artist (musician), so I write about my frustration in my music. I would say I'm quite mellow and laid back a lot of the time (without the drugs) unless someone pulls this very trigger. I know exactly how you feel

You're right. We probably fit bitter there, but at the same time, the culture doesn't fit the personality I have. America is very jaded, but it is home. I call out everyone who makes ignorant remarks even if they don't know it is. It's a good idea to raise your kids in China if that's where they're from. I was born here and I've grown up in a place where it's not normal to look like this, but moving over there would be too big of a move for me and I'd have trouble adapting there, too. The trouble with being Asian American is that you're not quite American, not not quite anything else other than unsure of what you really are

My opinion might be stupid to you, but face the facts. I wouldn't be proud if I was handicapped. This is similar. People look at us differently and ask stupid questions all the time. Our race wouldn't be so bad if people didn't ask us what country we're from based on the shape of our eyes. I have an actual personality, and my race gets in the way of showing who I really am. I'm sure there are others who feel the same

Thank you so much! I'm glad to find someone who understands. The fact of the matter is that we're still a minority and people still notice us for our race, first and foremost, and our character and personalities second. It's a sucky way to live especially since I've never been to China and don't know anything from their perspective

I even have a horrible name because you think I'm a man and I'm not. You're only 19, but I personally could only take those insults for so long until I realized that I cannot adapt with those people no matter how hard I try. I can't be treated like everyone just because of my squinty eyes. I used to be proud before I knew better. I guess knowing too much isn't such a good thing because you get to a point where you can't explain what you know to anyone else. I have nothing against other Asians. It's just not for me

I'm 21 and Lowell is a ghetto and a poor town that's nowhere near the city. Most of the time, people are well meaning when they insult me. They ask me what country I'm from even though I was born and raised in Boston. They say, "Hi how ma" thinking that I'm not capable of saying the word, "Hi." They tell me that I speak "good English" (meaning that I speak English "very well".) It's insulting because they don't expect me to be like everyone else, and it's all because of these squinty eyes. My point is that I can't go around teaching everyone how to respect me. I have to expect to be treated differently and I can't go on living like this. That is the problem with who I am. I can differentiate people of other races but they think I look like every other person. It's not me

Non-Asian people hate me for being Asian and yes, I am ugly like the rest. My mom hates me for not being Asian enough. I'm just not a robot. I have a personality and passion.
